|This course is ideal if you have been practising yoga regularly for at least 2 years and are looking to deepen your knowledge and understanding of yoga and to develop a more regular and effective personal practice.
We will meet over eight weekends, with the course starting in September 2014, including two weekends, where we meet on both the Saturday and Sunday to allow more in depth study and immersion in the practices to be explored.
The course will cover a wide range of topics, including
study of classical yoga texts,
Mantra & Yantra,
the Chakras and Koshas, different paths of yoga and
a basic level of anatomy & physiology.
Each study day will include at least two hours of yoga practice and Donna and Lucy are planning a
very experiential, varied learning experience to encourage your personal creativity and individual learning style to be used to its full potential.
There will be nine written essays to be externally assessed, but no practical assessment of this foundation stage, which is non-vocational: meaning that you will not be able to obtain insurance to teach under this initial training. On successful completion of the FRYOG Foundation course, you will be eligible to enrol for the subsequent two year vocational course.
The cost of the course is £600, plus FRYOG annual membership of £20
and the theory assessment fee of £55 payable to the assessor at the end
of the course.
